Live Your Days Inspired Anew
My mom, husband and I were watching Dateline a few nights ago when we saw the amazing story of Lydia Tillman.
Lydia was brutally assaulted in her home on July 4th, 2011 and she survived. Even after spending months in the hospital and having to re-learn how to talk, she was able to forgive her attacker and daily life with joy and purpose. Her story inspired us so much that I had to share with my readers. She shared an acronym of her name that I will never forget:
LYDIA ~ Live Your Days Inspired Anew
Her story has inspired me to take one day at a time and create the best day possible. I’ve thought of her every day since viewing the show.

In February of 2019, 7 years after I wrote this post, a lovely gentleman contacted me via my shop saying he had recently seen Lydia’s story on a repeat of Dateline and he and his wife were deeply touched (as was I). They recently lost a loved one and named their rescued cat LYDIA to honor the real Lydia. He shared that he says the words “Live Your Days Inspired Anew” every morning when he gets out of bed (wow) and wanted to get his wife on of Lydia’s bracelets with the same words as a birthday present but sales for the bracelets ended years ago. Finally, he asked if I could make him a custom tee shirt to surprise his wife and, even though I’d never done a custom shirt, I said of course.
