If Today Were The Last Day Of Your Life Would You Want To Do What You’re About To Do Today?
“I’ve looked in the mirror every day and asked myself ‘If today were the last day of my life would I want to do what I’m about to do today?’ and whenever the answer’s been no for too many days in a row I know I need to change something.” ~ Steve Jobs
I heard this quote about a year ago, and since then I’ve asked myself every morning (with the help of a reminder in my phone) the same question:
Roshini, ‘If today were the last day of your life would you want to do what you’re about to do today?”
… and if the answer is no for too many days in a row I make changes … I add things that are more in line with what I’d want to be doing in my last days … but most importantly I let go of things that I would not want to be doing (within reason … I can’t let go of my son’s medical care, but honestly I’m learning to feel it’s an honor to take care of him so maybe that doesn’t fit the bill anyway).
Consider asking yourself this very same question and giving an honest answer. Then adjust your life as necessary. Prune what does not serve you, seek out and welcome what does. I can hear you saying “But Roshini it’s not that easy” and my response is “Girl yes it is, it’s a choice.” 😉
