Cinco de Ini • 36 Reasons I’m Thankful
Today is my 36th birthday … which I can’t totally believe because, seriously, where did the time go?
I’m out and about today doing stuff to celebrate … like getting a massage … and getting the side of my hair shaved off. Later today I’ll be out with my friends having dinner then it’s off to see The Avengers *woohoo*. All in all I am thankful and expect it to be a great day.
In honor of my 36th year of life on this here planet, I present to you
36 Reasons I’m Thankful
because why not make a list like this? Here we go!
I’m thankful for…
1
I am alive. Nuff said.
2
my pregnancy. I get to see what it’s like to take part in creating a life! How awesome is that? I realize that I should not take this for granted.
3
my son. He’s not out here yet, but I’m so thankful for him and his life already. I cannot wait to meet him.
4
my birth family. I have the most awesome mother and father and I know that is a blessing. Not only that, but the general gist of my extended family is in the awesome category so I count myself as blessed.
5
my church. I’ve been at my church for over 10 years now and I cannot imagine life without them. My entire life has changed since joining that body and I plan on sticking around.
6
my friends. {Can you see that relationships are of utmost importance to me thus far?} Well, God has blessed me with amazing friends all over the place … I mean these great people are coming out the woodworks and I can’t keep up!
7
the opportunity to take the leap. My corporate contract ended and I don’t have to work right now. That is a blessing that allows me to not feel so much anxiety as I I choose my next step. Blessed.
8
my design and web development skills. I can do a lot of things on my own that others need help with or have to pay for.
9
where I’m from. I wouldn’t have it any other way. V.I. to deh bone!
10
my stature. I’m thankful for my height, my build etc. I’ve never had many body image issues and I that’s a blessing.
11
my hair. Yep, mostly because it’s opened so many doors I didn’t realize hair could even open. LOL.
12
my home. We are blessed to live in an amazing home.
13
great books. I love to read.
14
great food. Some of my favorites are Vita Malt, meat pate, croissants, smoothies, pizza, lasagna, mangoes, avocados, most breakfast foods, coffee, red wine + a medium well steak *yeah Lord!*, sushi, bbq, frozen yogurt … mmmmmmmm
15
this blog. I love blogging, that’s why I’ve done if for a decade.
16
my travels. I’ve seen some amazing places in the past 36 years.
17
sleeping late. I’m reveling in it now because I’m not sure when I will able to happen when baby boy gets here.
18
massages. so relaxing, and better yet they help my legs not hurt.
19
great movies. Some favorites are Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Legends of the Fall, Total Recall, The Joy Luck Club, Fight Club, Transformers, The Little Mermaid, The Usual Suspects, Troy, Pulp Fiction, The Matrix, Being John Malkovich, Memento, Interview with a Vampire …
20
WordPress. No seriously, love it.
21
YouTube. It’s so much fun!
23
the ability to walk. I wasn’t sure if that was gonna be the case.
24
living to see another year.
25
power, love & my sound mind.
26
God. He’s been so good to me.
27
living in this country. We are blessed with opportunities here.
28
the challenges I’ve experienced. This is a hard one to be thankful for, but honestly my challenges have helped me grow into who I am right now.
29
30
31
my sense of humor.
32
maturing every year. I look back and realize how much my mind has changed every year; true growth that has enriched my life beyond my young mind’s comprehension.
33
new days to try again.
34
prayer & the Bible. They are like an electrical outlet that I plug into to recharge.
35
dance. Although I haven’t been able to do it much lately, it is still my truest form of expression.
36
God. He’s been good to me.
Have an amazing May 5th, 2012 and remember to be thankful!

Happy Birthday Ini! I’ve been following you’re blog for probably the past 10 years (this is probably my second time commenting lol) and even checked for your during your hiatus! I’m very blessed to learn through your hair and life experiences. Sometimes learning about life through someone else who is sharing and older, and gets more people to discuss life, is truly helpful and inspiring. I pray God continues to bless you and your growing family. Peace!
