Are you an optimist?
👩🏾🏫 Your explanatory style (if you’re an optimist or a pessimist) is your tendency to offer similar explanations for different events. 🤷🏾♀️
What’s really fascinating is it then means we are all individually attaching different meanings to the same events, assessing the same events as a threat or a challenge, and ultimately perceiving, explaining, and therefore approaching the exact same event in different ways.
Wow huh?
Learned helplessness is a real thing.
It happens when someone believes the result of a situation is out of their control. When people feel that they have no control over the outcome, they tend to behave like what they do doesn’t matter, are less active and intentional, and even overlook actual opportunities for relief or change.
Last time (while yo girl was mildly sick 🥴) the ladies in my Pineapple Crowns group began chatting about LEARNED HELPLESSNESS and in the following days, several of them expressed that they need more soooooo on our next call I’ll be walking them through how to know if you’re an optimist or a pessimist, where you land compared to others in the dimension of hope, how you perceive good situations, how you perceive bad situations, and what you can do to shift all of that if that’s your desire.
Cool huh? 🥱
I think so. 🥴👩🏾🏫🥱🤷🏾♀️
