Last year I planned on doing several photo shoots based on the 4 elements. The first shoot — ELEVATION — was inspired by the element of air, and other shoots for earth, fire, and water were to follow. I did the first shoot in May 2017 and never posted the final pictures.

Why?

At the time it was arguably one of the worst creative experiences of my life. I’m not one to say why (well I could but I won’t 🤷🏾‍♀️), but after the shoot was over I shared a couple phone pix from my makeup artist(/new best friend lol #makedada) and every other trace of the experience disappeared. Let’s just say lesson learned on continuing to work with someone when alarm bells were sounding in my head before the shoot. Trust your gut Roshini. Lesson. Learned.

Oh, and there was this accompanying video too, which didn’t get posted either. 😞

I just wanted the entire thing to go away because what I envisioned as a freeing expression of creativity turned out to be a stressful experience of trauma and anxiety. Barely anything went as I’d hoped.

But looking back at some of these shots your girl is mad cute ay? BOOP. 💁🏾‍♀️ *milly rocks on your block*

So, here I am over a year later, with less proximity to the the WTF-ed-ness of the whole thing and ready to post some of the shots that I like. 😋 Ironically now I feel lighter, elevated, like AIR. And isn’t that what expression and growth should make you feel?
